Emilio Lozoya

, the former Pemex director , claims that he can't appear before the supervisory judge who issued his arrest warrant because of the alleged lack of proper conditions and legal guarantees.

Last week, a federal judge suspended his arrest but he was asked to appear before the supervisory judge before June 12 , who would not order his arrest , and would only decide what is next in the case against him.

Nevertheless, Lozoya released a statement where he explains he won't appear before the supervisory judge and claimed the Attorney General's Office incurred in irregularities in order to obtain an arrest warrant against him and his sister, even when money laundering, fraud, and bribery , the crimes he is accused of, don't require pretrial detention .

“The same judge that issued the arrest warrant, issues search warrants using false reports made by elements from the Federal Ministerial Police ; additionally, they ordered a raid at my parents' house, elderly people, lying to the supervisory judge because it is public that my sister got married months ago and (she) obviously has her own home, therefore she doesn't live with my parents. They lied to the supervisory judge with absolutely false events that will be proven before the authority,” he claimed.

On May 30, Lozoya officially appointed Javier Coello Trejo as his lawyer . Coello later revealed he was denied access to the investigation files.

“It is clear that if I present myself before the supervisory judge , they are going to bind me over to trial and issue a justified pretrial detention , therefore, I have the right to look after my liberty as all these actions are definitely political persecution orchestrated against me,” he added.

Nevertheless, if Lozoya doesn't appear before the supervisory judge before tomorrow, the amparo judge could revoke the definite suspension he was granted and the Attorney General's Office will be free to arrest him, as he will be considered as a fugitive .
