Mexican drug cartels are reshaping themselves after the recent arrest of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, as well as the extradition or death of former drug kingpins
"El Chapo" Guzman could be extradited to the United States by early next year
The charges are mostly against the illicit money couriers working for Colombian and Mexican cartels trying to get U.S. drug-profit dollars converted into pesos they can use.
According to media reports, the Mexican boxer has been friends with Andrade and Kate del Castillo for 20 years and he could have links with drug lords such as “El Mayo” Zambada, Héctor “El Güero” Palma, Juan José Esparragoza “El Azul”, Amado Carrillo and Francisco Arellano Félix.
According to the latest report from the Attorney General's Office (PGR) nine cartels operate in Mexico: Sinaloa, Jalisco New Generation, Los Zetas, Gulf, Tijuana, Beltrán Leyva, Juárez, Familia Michoacana and Knights Templar.
