Zoé Robledo hasn’t shown support for healthcare workers
It seems like the head of the IMSS , Zoé Robledo , took Easter week off because after it was revealed that the family of a patient who died o f COVID-19 attacked the health workers , he didn’t address the incident. This time, even the head of the ISSSTE , Luis Antonio Ramírez Pineda, who has kept a low profile, announced he will ask the Security Ministr y to protect health workers and hospitals . Moreover, local Health Minister Rosa Icela Rodríguez said authorities will reinforce security at Mexico City hospitals. However, the IMSS has yet to announced any measure.

Lawmakers don’t want to donate their Christmas bonus
This is the ultimate challenge for Morena in the lower chamber , where we will learn if they are with the President or not. On Monday, 259 Morena lawmakers , led by Mario Delgado, will hold a virtual meeting to decide whether or not they will donate their Christmas bonus , which amounts to MXN $140,504 per lawmaker. Let’s not forget that last Sunday, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said that all high-ranking officials would not receive their Christmas bonus. Now, we’ve been told that there is división among Morena members because they are unsure the donation will help. For now, lawmakers Dolores Padierna and Ana Sánches decided to donate their Christmas bonuses to help healthcare worker s and vulnerable sectors .

Germán Martínez vs. the government
We’ve been told that the fact that Germán Martínez once led the IMSS , which he left because of the lack of budget and shortages, didn’t work to convince him of the need to implement budget cuts in the Senate to help in the fight against the pandemic . The former PAN member doesn’t agree with the austerity plan promoted by Morena , in support of the measure implemented by the government amid the coronavirus outbreak . We’ve been told the senator doesn’t want to donate part of his salary. Now, Martínez is expected to have a new confrontation with the ruling party.

Consulates have no idea about what’s going on
Mexico’s consulates
in the U.S. don’t have a clue about what’s to come in regards to resources . Last Thursday, they sent a statement, issued by the Public Affairs Ministry , where it is announced that they have to cut their general and operation expenses by 50%. On Friday, the Foreign Ministry announced an increase in the resources allocated to help Mexicans who are affected by COVID-19 , especially those who lost a family member. So diplomatic representatives have no idea of what is happening.
