A total of 12 first dancers from the Bolshoi Ballet , the New York City Ballet , the Norwegian National Ballet , and the Mikhailovsky theater , as well as the winner of the 2019 Benois de la Danse award Elisa Carrillo, will be showing off their talent in Mexico next month.

, announced that the Danzatlán International Dance Festival would offer a series of activities including the Elisa Gala and a show at the National Auditory on July 2nd .
“This year, we’ll have a different format. Elisa Carrillo and the entire team decided to give priority to Mexican artists, though the dance event is meant to serve as a platform for both national and international talents,” said Kaniskin during a press conference.
He emphasized that the official program for the festival, which will take place at different venues in Mexico City, Puebla, and the State of Mexico between 2 and 13 July, will feature a ballet gala with 30 dancers and live music.
Kaniskin commented that the event would include the participation of the Berlin Youth Ballet , a German company that is currently on a world tour.
The event will also feature Kristina Kretova, first dancer of the Bolshoi Ballet , who will perform the Anton Dolin version of Giselle in company of the National Dance Company at the Palace of Fine Arts on July 13 .

; Julian Mackay, from the Mikhailovsky Theater Ballet; Katia Carranza Cantú, from the Miami Ballet; Elisa Carrillo, Yolanda Correa Frías, Mikhail Kaniskin, and Dinu Tamazlacaru, from the Staatsballett Berlin will also be participating in the Danzatlán dance festival.
The official program will also include a conference by Tatiana Kuznetsova , one of the most important dance critics in the world, entitled “The art of ballet critique in Russia,” taking place at the Spain Cultural Center in Mexico City on July 9 .
Moreover, there will be a conference on the impact of dance in neurological rehabilitation at the Toluca Cultural Center in the State of Mexico and the Miguel León Portilla Auditory at the Bicentenary Cultural Center of Texcoco on 8 and 9 July.
Similarly, the festival will feature the participation of the Mexican Disability Ballet and the Mexican Folkloric Ballet of Amalia Hernández on July 9 and 13.
