The long-awaited exhibition of Tim Burton is already here. The American filmmaker behind movies such as “Beetlejuice” (1988), “Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas” (1993) and “Alice in Wonderland” (2010) is sure to please fans in Mexico as it allows us to take a peek behind the curtains of his creative genius to reveal the versatility he transmits through his unique and timeless vision.

In this exhibition, you can find drawings, paintings, photographs, sculptures, and many surprises more which will help you become familiar with Burton's artistic dimension, not only of his films but also of personal works that go as far back as his childhood.

“The World of Tim Burton” brings with it 400 objects and is organized by Jenny He in collaboration with the filmmaker himself. The exposition will remain until April 8, 2018 , and is divided in 9 galleries: “Around the World”, “The Carnivalesque,” “Figurative works: Men, Women or Creatures,” “Film Characters,” “Holidays,” “Influences,” “The Misunderstood Outcasts,” “Polaroids,” and “Unrealized Projects.”

Tickets & Prices

Entry tickets are MXN$320 per person and a maximum of four can be purchased through the of the exhibition.

There are also packages available which include the tickets and two sketchbooks: “The Art of Tim Burton” and “The Napkin Art of Tim Burton” for MXN$3,000.

A regular ticket includes the entrance to the exhibition, access to the photography area of the Museum's cloister, entrance to the film auditorium within the Franz Mayer Museum, and the official gift shop of the exhibition.

For this exhibition, student and teacher discounts aren't available . Children aged 2 and over pay full entrance fees.

The Franz Mayer Museum also has parking service available. Costs are per hour and subject to availability (entrance is through Valerio Trujano street).

Entrance Rules

Bags and backpacks exceeding 28cm x 12cm are forbidden inside the exhibition.

Unfortunately, photographs are not allowed inside the galleries and are only permitted at the cloister of the Museum (main yard).

Foods and beverages are also prohibited at the venue, yet the Museum has a cafeteria.

For hardcore fans out there, you are allowed to dress up as your favorite characters.
