Mexican authorities want to dismantle the structure built by Óscar Andrés Flores , also known as “ El Lunares ,” leader of the Unión Tepito cartel. On Thursday, officers from Mexico City's Citizen Security Ministry and Mexico’s Attorney General’s Office (FGR) arrested Jorge Luis Jordán “El Tío,” one of the main operators of “El Lunares.”
The arrest took place in Mexico City’s Cuauhtémoc borough.
who is El Lunares’s brother , was arrested on Thursday morning while another one of his relatives was arrested in Peralvillo St. last October.
Óscar Andrés Flores Ramírez will appear in court for organized crime charges.

Federal sources confirmed that the FGR is currently working in allocating charges against “ El Lunares ,” who would have yet another charge for federal crimes.
The proceeding began on Thursday at 10:30 in Mexico City’s Reclusorio Norte where a control judge issued an arrest warrant against “El Lunares” regarding the new crime.
“El Lunares” has been imprisoned at Reclusorio Oriente since last February when a Mexico City control Judge bound him over to trial for aggravated homicide .
La Unión Tepito is one of the deadliest cartels in the city. It is the main drug distributor in the city, as well as the main violence generator, and received protection from local authorities.

“El Lunares,” who was first arrested in Hidalgo , is known for his eccentric lifestyle, he is fond of exotic animals, expensive jewelry and cars. According to local authorities, he has ordered the murder of several rivals to use their remains in satanic rituals and witchcraft altars.
The local drug cartel is involved in a dispute with another local cartel: Fuerza Anti Unión de Tepito .
The Unión Tepito , Fuerza Anti-Unión , and the Tláhuac cartels are the main criminal organizations operating in Mexico City .
