The Health Ministry analyzed two more suspected COVID-19 cases in Jalisco. They were a 4-years-old boy and a 24-years-old man; both of them are in stable conditions and have received attention at home.
The federal agency informed that the man traveled to China and came back to Mexico on February 6 ; both showed symptoms on February 16 and 17 .
Both suspected cases have tested negative and until now there no more suspected cases, as reported by the Health Ministry .

“The suspected cases registered in Jalisco tested negative to COVID-19 but one of them tested positive to Enterovirus / Rhinovirus ,” stressed the federal agency.
In the daily COVID-19 report , it was revealed that today began a workshop at the Institute for Epidemiologic Diagnosis and Reference (InDRE) to train the staff of 28 state public health laboratories and six regional hospitals who, starting next week, will be able to perform the diagnosis process for SARS-COV-2 .
“Hence, there is a better opportunity to identify a COVID-19 case , as well as the implementation of laboratory surveillance, which will allow us to timely identify the presence of this new virus .”
Until now, there have been no positive cases of COVID-19 in Mexico and 18 suspected cases have been ruled out.

From the suspected cases, 7 were in Jalisco , 4 in Mexico City , 2 in the State of Mexico , while Nuevo León , Tamaulipas , Guanajuato , Oaxaca , and Michoacán have had one each.
The Ministry stressed that the Epidemiologic and Sanitary Intelligence Unit is available 24/7 on the phone 800 044 800 in which citizens can inquire for information on the novel coronavirus.

The General Direction of Health Promotion has recommended to strengthen the practice of actions for health care and thus prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, among which stand out frequently cleaning your hands with soap and water, not touching your face, nose, mouth, and eyes with dirty hands, staying at home when you have respiratory diseases, as well as going to the doctor in case of having a fever over 38 degrees, headache, sore throat, or a runny nose.
