“Rappel à
l'ordre
: The plague, a visual analysis on tourism”
is a photography exhibition by Juan Coronel Rivera . The exhibition is a selection of 64 photographs on 11x 14 inches silver gelatin print.
The artist named the exhibition Rappel à l'ordre (return to order) due to his own return to photography since he made a pause on his photography career to focus on being an art curator. The exhibition is divided into eight stages in which Coronel Rivera exposed the transformation process that the journey represents to tourists.
From fetish to behavior, the photographer analyzes tourism.
“The exhibition has a series of value judgments. It shows that the vast majority goes for an all inclusive tourism . A tourist that will observe mere stereotypes in any place. They will not know a place in its integrity since every place is massive. There are different sorts of tourisms, cult and serious tourism, political tourism, etc.” the artist explains regarding his analysis.
The photographer assures that this project is historical since tourism has changed due to selfies and memes “the two main genres of the twenty-first century”.
“Rappel à l'ordre: The plague, a visual analysis on tourism” will be exhibited in Mexico 's Israeli Sports Center ( Centro Deportivo Israelí abbreviated CDI ).
