Tickets for ROMA sold out at New York Film Festival

The New York Film Festival will feature Mexican director Alfonso Cuarón's latest film ROMA

From September 28 to October 14 , the city that never sleeps will celebrate the famous New York Film Festival .

The autumn festival is known for bringing together the best of the world’s cinematography , projecting movies that have triumphed in Berlin, Cannes, Venice, and Toronto film festivals .

Such is the case of ROMA , which has been deemed the centerpiece of this year’s Festival. Alfonso Cuarón himself will be present at its screening at the Alice Tully Hall on October 5 .

Tickets for the movie projection at four different movie theaters were sold at an average price of 35 dollars and sold out during the first few days of official sales.

Another movie that American audiences have most been looking forward to is Cold War, by Polish director Pawel Pawlikowski , a love story set in the times of the Cold War. It won the Palme d’Or for best director in Cannes .

Lazzaro Felice (Happy as Lazzaro)

also won a Palme d’Or at the French festival for best screenplay. It was made by Alice Rohrwacher . Known for her magic realism, the Italian director addresses the issue of unbridled capitalism by telling the story of the oppressed and the oppressors that find a bonding interphase through an angel of sorts called Lazzaro.
