Tax fraud will be severely punished
We've been told that on Thursday, the Senate hopes to pass a reform that will punish tax fraud as organized crimes . Morena will continue to dialogue with the opposition to negotiate its unanimous approval since the opposition isn't 100% sure that this crime can be considered as a risk for national security, although it is for the ruling party because of the millions lost by the SAT . If it is unanimously approved, it would be the first reform passed by all the parties during this legislative year, and the first to fulfill one of the requests made by the Finance Ministry and especially by the SAT , led by Margarita Ríos Farjat.
Laura Rojas vs. the CNTE
Today, members of the National Coordination of Education Workers (CNTE) will protest against “the worst reform ” outside the lower chamber , as the lawmakers get ready to discuss the secondary laws in regards to education matters . The three pending laws must be passed by Thursday and not much is known about the matter, therefore, the protests are expected to last for quite some time, which is nothing new. Nevertheless, the attention will be on Laura Rojas, PAN , the head of the lower chamber, and what position will she take. Many opposition lawmakers are wondering if Rojas will ask the police to monitor the venue, if she will move the meeting to another venue , or if she will let the CNTE do what it wants.
Gertz Manero's salary
The Attorney General, Alejandro Gertz Manero , will get a raise if the 2020 budget is approved but it won't mean that he'll have a better salary than the President . We've been told that the budget considers a 3.35% increase for all the federal officials and the autonomous bodies. They claim that the President's salary is higher than that of the Attorney General and that this will be the case after the increase .
Ruiz Massieu ignores Alito
Alito Moreno
, the president of the PRI , had his first meeting with the former national PRI leaders. The meeting was to discuss the new path the party should take, nevertheless, there was one person missing in the meeting: the former leader, Claudia Ruiz Massieu . Let's not forget she didn't vote during the internal election . Maybe not all the wounds have healed at the PRI ?
