President Andrés Manuel López Obrador

presented the progress of the program created to provide with social security one year after Mexico’s Supreme Court (SCJN) issued the resolution to guarantee this right for them.

In this Thursday’s news conference, the general director of Mexico’s Social Security Institute (IMSS) Zoé Robledo Aburto informed that until now there are 11,947 affiliates , although there was a total registry of 15,000 persons .

He added that, from the beneficiaries of the program implemented between and the , 76% of them are women and 26% live in Mexico City and the State of Mexico; the average monthly wage of each beneficiary is of MXN $5,000 .

informed that last November 28 they sent the Convention 189 of the International Labor Organization (OIT) to be signed this Thursday by President López Obrador, to send it to the Senate for its ratification.
