During a press conference, Anuar Layón said that over a year ago, his PR agency got a call from the mythical show's representatives: They asked him to develop a collection. “That was quite emotional for me because The Simpsons are obviously part of my life, and of the national culture. It's what I watched in the afternoons for many years. The show represents a whole generation. In Mexico , we tend to tropicalize things, and The Simpsons are one of those things we have tropicalized.”

For this collaboration, Anuar Layón was inspired by the influence the beloved yellow family has had in pop culture in Mexico , for decades: “It was a very friendly collaboration and the brand respected the creative process. It was very easy for me because everyone talks about The Simpsons in Mexico , and everyone tells you a phrase from the show. We're surrounded by its gags.”
