Now, almost one year after her arrest and amid the COVID-19 pandemic , Robles requested to be released from prison to face her trial but for the fourth time, a federal judge rejected her petition.
The federal judge dismissed the arguments presented by Rosario Robles ’ team, who argued that the Santa Martha Acatitla prison is located in the Iztalapala borough, one of the areas with the largest number of COVID-19 cases in Mexico City.

In the petition, the lawyers argue that Robles’ health and life are in serious danger.
Nevertheless, the judge said the former government official might flee and refused to release her.
