President López Obrador and Dr. López-Gatell disagree

During the past week, health authorities reported the highest COVID-19 contagion numbers since the pandemic started, although we know the results are delayed for weeks. Since the country went through an earthquake and was shocked after Mexico City Security Minister Omar García Harfuch was attacked, no-one noticed the disagreement between President López Obrador and Dr. López-Gatell : while López Obrador affirms Mexican people have set an example to the rest of the world, Hugo López-Gatell confirmed people didn’t follow preventive measures . Moreover, the epidemiologist was upset when the media reminded him that he said the epidemic could be over in Mexico City by June 25; nevertheless, he did mention that it would be over by this day if people followed stay-at-home orders . So Mexicans didn’t follow preventive measures and now there are 26,000 fatalities.

Nevertheless, the CNDH has yet to address the comments made by Public Administration Minister Irma Eréndira Sandoval and her husband John Ackerman, after a journalist questioned them over the properties they have accumulated over the years. The couple branded their critics “media gunmen,” and the expression was condemned by the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights and the Committee to Protect Journalists. So why is the CNDH staying silent?
