PAN members upset by Anaya's adverts
Not only are the rebel senators of the National Action Party (PAN) upset by the personal use their national leader Ricardo Anaya is making of the party's advertising spots. We've been told that after attending the second address of the Governor of Baja California Sur, Carlos Mendoza, the PAN governors met with the legislators of their party and talked about the issue of the sports and the need of said advertisements – instead of being used by Anaya – being used to spread the word of the good deeds achieved by the PAN Governors. Our sources say the Governor of Querétaro Francisco Domínguez, has already sent a notification to Anaya, requesting the advertisement spaces. Yet, given the background on this issue, it seems Mr. Francisco will be kept waiting because the advertising spots are, apparently, exclusively for the use of Anaya.
Marichuy in CU
According to our sources, the independent Zapatist candidate to the presidency, María de Jesús Patricio Martínez – better known as Marichuy – will arrive with a caravan next November 28 at the University City (CU) of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). Her goal is to gather the coveted signatures needed to become a formal candidate for the presidency, and it seems Marichuy will be accompanied by the Indigenous Governing Council in this task. In recent days, she has criticized the National Electoral Institute (INE) because of the method the INE provided to gather the signatures – a mobile app – since she has claimed this technology doesn't work in several municipalities of the country.
The accolades of Nuño
When counting how many accolades each of the aspiring presidential candidates has, we've been told the Minister of Education Aurelio Nuño can boast as one of the best in his collection that most teachers in training in Oaxaca have already been convinced that only through an examination will they be able to enter the teacher's union and launch their professional career – unlike the previous form of affiliation, which was buying a place. On the face of this reality, our sources say 350 teachers in Oaxaca have taken said examination in Puebla. Other graduates are still hell-bent on marching the streets demanding automatic entrance to the Professional Teachers' Service, which is obviously forbidden by the Law; however, the expectation is to see these protests dwindling in the short-term. Now, the question remains: will Nuño have enough accolades to win the presidential candidacy?
The INE's revenge
According to the auditing schedule, it was high time the National Electoral Institute (INE) analyzed the irregularities incurred in by the political parties during 2016, and the timing couldn't be better. Thus, this week the INE – presided by Lorenzo Córdova – could return the “favor” the parties did to the institute when they cut $ 800 million of MXN from their budget. This Wednesday, the INE will rule on the irregularities found in 9 political parties on matters regarding resources – of which the parties are repeat offenders. The penalties proposed rise over the 536 million of MXN. Will the INE seek revenge?
