The Palace of Mines International Book Fair ( FILPM ) reaches its 39th edition offering over 1,000 activities with at least 800 authors .

This edition commemorates the bicentenary of the births of Mexican writer Ignacio RamírezThe Necromancer —, Mexican novelists Guillermo Prieto , Russian novelist Iván Turguénev , and German philosopher Karl Marx , the centenary of the births of Mexican poets Alí Chumacero and Guadalupe Amor , Mexican writer Juan José Arreola , Russian novelist Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn , and the birthdays of Mexican writer Amparo Dávila , and American linguist Noam Chomsky .

On Twitter, FILPM wrote in Spanish "Today is the day! The palace opens its doors to all readers from today until March 5. Remember that only for today the fair opens at 3 p.m. We are waiting for you!"

Campeche

will be the guest of honor featuring over 60 activities ranging from editorial and artistic presentations, workshops, lectures, and conferences.

Overall, the FILPM gathers 600 publishing houses and 180 exhibitors showcasing 856 book presentations —both in printed form and ebook version—, about 162 lectures , 112 workshops , 81 discussion panels , 14 book signings , 13 video projections , 5 concerts , 4 awards ceremonies , and recitals .

Literary criticism, poetry, crime fiction, horror literature, comics, science, public health, economy, gender equity, and poetry will be among the wide range of genres available in this year's edition.
