Now Meade wants to unleash the “Tigres”
The campaign team of presidential candidate José Antonio Meade wants to unleash the “Tigres” for tomorrow's campaign closure in the north of the country. We've been told that at the war room of Mr. Pepe, they are doing the math to see if they can hire the band Tigres del Norte to spice things up at their closing rally in Saltillo, Coahuila . This is the legendary band which the team of Andrés Manuel López Obrador also wanted – without success – for their closure event. Our sources in the war room of the center-right Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) tell us the Tigres haven't decided yet if they will go to Meade's event but the leaders of the coalition parties do want to the audience to have some fun. Will the Tigres say yes to Meade?
El Bronco also gives money away
Contrary to what he preaches, the independent presidential candidate Jaime Rodríguez Calderón (El Bronco) did in Torreón, Coahuila , that which he criticizes the most in his rivals. What happened? During a tour across the Juárez market in this city, he did what he hates about the proposals of Andrés Manuel López Obrador, José Antonio Meade, and Ricardo Anaya, who promote welfare programs: he gave money away. Mr. Jaime was moved by the story of a woman who had been deported from the United States with her daughter and took out his wallet to give them some money. It's fine if El Bronco hates bureaucracy but if he starts handing out bills, where will the money come from for the other needy people in Mexico?
A bad day for Alberto Anaya
A terrible day was yesterday for the leader of the far-left Labor Party (PT), Alberto Anay a, during the closure event of Andrés Manuel López Obrador in Acapulco, given that he was denied entrance to the event. The security personnel informed him that because the PT failed to confirm the alliance with the left National Regeneration Party (MORENA) and decided to promote Zeferino Torreblanca as Mayor of Acapulco , he had no right to attend the event. In the end, the organizers allowed Mr. Alberto in but during the rally, he was booed by the crowd and even López Obrador asked the candidate to support Morena in Acapulco. Not a good day for Anaya.
AMLO and Meade close to crossing paths
No, we're not talking about polls but about a coincidence in the same plane. We've been told that five days before election day, the presidential candidates of the center-right Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) and the left National Regeneration Party (MORENA) – José Antonio Meade and Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) , respectively – where this close to flying on the same flight from Morelia, Michoacán to Mexico City. However, Meade decided to travel by land at the last minute after the flight was canceled. The plane did take off, albeit one hour later. So Meade and AMLO were this close to crossing paths, not in the polls though.
