On Friday, U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ( CDC ) issued an update regarding a multistate outbreak of Salmonella infections linked to imported Maradol papayas imported from two more farms in Mexico .

According to the CDC, Caraveo Produce and El Zapotanito tested positive for salmonella, yet there is a possibility that fruit from other Mexican farms might be contaminated.

Epidemiologic lab evidence indicates Maradol papayas from the Carica De Campeche farm in Mexico are likely source of the multistate outbreak.
