Monreal will have to say no to the President

Morena

's parliamentary coordinator , Ricardo Monreal , might have to reject the contenders to the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) , proposed by President López Obrador. We've been told that the truth is Monreal has no choice because there is no consensus inside his bench to appoint not even one the candidates . Also, the opposition refuses to appoint any of them, therefore, he will have to ask the President to nominate other four contenders that fulfill the requirements and are able to carry out the job .

Ivonne Ortega is looking for a running mate

The former Yucatán Governor, Ivonne Ortega , is looking for a running mate for the PRI internal election . As you might know, she plans to contend for the PRI's leadership but she is yet to decide who will be her partner for the internal election . Her possible running mates include David Penchyna, José Encarnación Alfaro , and José Natividad González Parás . The scenario doesn't seem favorable for her, as she will have to contend against the former Health Minister, José Narro and Alejandro Moreno, the Campeche Governor.

Yeidckol Polevnsky sets the record straight

There was tension between Yeidckol Polevnsky and Ricardo Monreal because of the Puebla election , but she has now turned the page. She said she won't reach out to Monreal because he isn't “lost” and said she was sure he will support Miguel Barbosa as the official Puebla candidate . Also, she made peace with Alejandro Armenta , the candidate who lost in the poll to become the official Morena contender to the state of Puebla . Yeidckol Polevnsky also denied she called Armenta a rat, as some have said. “Someone told Armenta I called him a rat, and I told him 'no, no, no'. I did say we had to look after the party against rats but I never named anyone. There are some who feel identified, but that's something else.”

Acid attacks could be typified as crimes soon

Civil organizations

are pushing Congress to pass a bill that for more severe punishments against those who attack women . We've been told that they hope that throwing acid against a woman is typified as a crime . Nevertheless, some lawmakers could boost the proposal, among them is Josefina Vázquez Mota, PAN . We've been told that the lawmakers are meeting with women who have been attacked with acid . The idea is that lawmakers and senators contemplate such a delicate issue in their agendas and begin the debate on the state and federal levels.
