“I talked to Mark Zuckerberg a few days ago, the creator of Facebook , in a video conference and I told him that when we were the opposition , conventional media ignored us, they were controlled by the regime and there was no information about what we're doing and sometimes we crowded the public squares, we protested and the next day, newspapers didn't publish anything and they didn't say anything on the radio , even less in television ,” he said.

The President said that thanks to social media this is different now because everyone has the freedom to express their views.

He also said that “ social media was a great improvement for those of us who fought as part of the opposition , it was like an oasis in the middle of the desert to be able to use social media.”

Nevertheless, López Obrador said that bots are a problem.
