Mexico's President-elect, Andrés Manuel López Obrador , announced a new referendum on November 24 and 25, where three projects will be at stake, among them are the Mayan Train , as well as social programs the President-elect hopes to launch during his administration.

In an interview at Mexico City's airport , and after announcing that the construction of the Mayan Train begins on December 16, López Obrador explained that the referendum will have the same mechanism as the previous one, but will now be paid for by Morena's Senators , and will ask people their opinion about the Mayan Train , the construction of a refinery in Tabasco , and the project of the Tehuantepec Isthmus .

“On November 24 and 25, we will carry out a referendum to ask the citizens, not only those who live in the south but all Mexicans . Also, the social programs to support senior citizens, disabled people, receiving a scholarship as a right, that is, all the social programs , 10 programs, and 3 projects, will be up for public consultation,” he explained.

He explained that in the case of the referendum about social programs , he will defend them, that is, despite what people decide, he is going to fight in defense of all the projects.

“As the adversaries are quite rigorous, so there's no doubt, we're doing a referendum ,” he claimed.

The 1,073 polling stations for this referendum will be installed in the same places as the previous referendum, and once again, the Rosenblueth Foundation will be in charge of counting the votes.
