According to a press release issued by Mexico's Ministry of Foreign Affairs , the preliminary figures confirm nine foreign deceased, one individual from Argentina , one from South Korea , one from Spain , one from Panama and five from China ( Taiwan ) among the 325 who lost their lives after the devastating 7.1-magnitude earthquake that hit the country on Tuesday, September 19 .
On behalf of Mexico's Government, the Foreign Ministry profoundly laments the deaths of the nine foreigners and assures that all the necessary legal and logistical assistance for the repatriation of the bodies will be provided to the families.
“The Foreign Ministry has contacted their diplomatic representations in Mexico to express our sorrow and hopes that time will heal the grief of the victims' families,” concludes the statement.
