State authorities are investigating three possible COVID-19 cases in Veracruz . And although the first test was negative, a second test will be carried out by Mexico ’s National Institute of Epidemiological Reference ( INDRE ).
The patients are a 27-year-woman and a 22-year-old man who reside in Xalapa . The woman recently traveled to Italy and the man was in contact with her. Once they felt flu symptoms , they followed the suggested protocols. Three of the woman’s contacts showed no symptoms and authorities ruled out that they were infected with COVID-19 .

The other possible case was reported in Poza Rica , where a 32-year-old woman recently traveled to Italy and has symptoms.
Veracruz authorities said the final results will be revealed by the spokesperson for the Epidemiological Departmen t under the Health Ministry during the daily press conference.
So far, Mexican authorities have confirmed 5 COVID-19 cases: two in Mexico City , one in Sinaloa , one in Coahuila , and one in Chiapas .
