Mexico City Airport introduces Japanese Pod Hotel concept

Guests can rent pods for sleeping or even napping

The first pod or capsule hotel in Mexico was inaugurated at Mexico City International Airport ( Aeropuerto Internacional de la Ciudad de México abbreviated AICM ) in Terminal 1.

Izzzleep

is the name of the hotel and its service concept is similar to the Japanese pod hotel concept.

- Guests can rent sleeping capsules for about an hour or for a full night .


Izzzleep features:

- Each pod is restricted to one person only.

- Pods include a high definition television, a mirror, a safety box, a fire extinguisher, lighting control, air conditioning and USB charging ports.

- Each pod has an emergency button if the guest requires personal assistance.

- The facility represented a MXN$ 5 million investment.

- It has 40 pods . Each pod can be rented for MXN$ 140 per hour and MXN$ 605 per night.

- Each pod includes a private locker area and bathrooms, however, the access for a private shower alone is available for MXN$ 130 .

- Izzzleep expects 12,000 guests in its first year of operation.
