Mexico charges judge linked to cartel with illicit enrichment

On November 22, agents from the Attorney General's Office arrested magistrate judge Isidro Avelar Gutiérrez , who has been linked to the ( CJNG )

The judge has been accused of receiving bribes from the Jalisco New Generation Cartel and was suspended without pay from the Judiciary in May 2019.

Through a statement, the Federal Judicial Council announced that the magistrate judge had been transported to Mexico City and that his arrest was the result of a lawsuit filed on May 24 for “asset irregularities and additional income.”
