Mexican violinist awarded the "Distinguished Mexican Prize"

Mexican violinist Paulina Derbez,

who lives in Toronto and created the Contemporary Mexico Foundation , was awarded the " Distinguished Mexican Prize ", which was recently created by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

wrote "The Conscious Musician", and its prologue was written by Jorge Volpi.

The Duo Luna Derbez Salazar represented the Fundación México Contemporáneo at the Sound Landscapes concert on July 26 in Romainmotier, Switzerland , and on July 30 at the Haus der Musik in Vienna ; both events were organized by the Mexican embassies in Switzerland and Austria .

Both her concert in Vienna and her participation as a professor at the International Festival and Master Course Music in the Alps , directed by Dr. Irena Portenko, were supported by the artistic mobility program created by the FONCA .

In 2019 Derbez and dancer Lucy Rupert will premiere "Mirrors", at the Citadel Theater in Toronto .

"Mirrors" is a dance and music show supported by the Ontario Arts Council. Part of this work was presented at the Koerner Hall in Toronto.

The violinist received a silver medal made by the Casa de la Moneda and a diploma from the General Consul in Toronto, Porfirio Thierry Muñoz Ledo , as part of the national holidays in Ontario .
