After 32 years , the classic theme song of the Mexican soap opera Cuna de Lobos was heard once again during the filming of its reboot, produced by Giselle González . The producer assured that the reboot will have the essence of the original t elenovela produced by Carlos Téllez, though some elements would be changed to appeal to new audiences.

Some of the new elements featured in the soap opera reboot will be Paz Vega in the role of Catalina Creel. The character of her younger son, played by Alejandro Camacho in the original version, will be homosexual.

“These are modern guidelines the public usually relates to. A few years ago, people didn’t talk about these things so much, this is one of the great advantages of our time. The homosexual couple will be played by Diego Amozurrutia and José Pablo Minor ,” stated Giselle.

As for the choice of Vega in the leading role of Catalina Creel, originally played by the late María Rubio, Giselle claimed that the studio had set its eyes on her for quite some time.

“I think she is a very accomplished actress, she meets all the requirements. We’ve been trying to convince her to play the leading role for a long time, and finally, she was able to make time for it. I think she is a wonderful actress who could really do Catalina Creel justice,” she added.

The show is yet to be given a release date, though the producer expects it to be launched next August . The series will have 23 chapters and will be part of the Fábrica de Sueños (Dream Factory) project, through which Mexican production company Televisa will reboot some of its most iconic shows, including El Maleficio (The Spell) and Rubí .

Catalina’s oldest son will be played by Gonzalo García Vivanco . In the original story written by Carlos Olmos, the character is tormented because his mother has made him think that it was his fault that she lost her eye in an accident.
