From 2012 to 2018 , 191 Mexican agricultural and fishing products were placed in 66 new markets in countries in Europe, Asia, Oceania, and the Arabian Peninsula.

The Sagarpa noted that it achieved the exportation of 68 plant products and 123 of animal origin to various countries.

It emphasized that this has been possible due to public policies and phytosanitary and zoo-sanitary actions implemented during the current federal administration.

The strategic plan for the diversification of agrifood markets also allowed for the negotiation of sanitary protocols, which achieved the opening of 68 markets for agricultural products and 194 negotiations on food from livestock, aquaculture, and fisheries , it said in a statement.

It also emphasized that Mexico's cooperation with different countries made it possible to send raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, corn, and tobacco to China ; grapefruit, sweet sorghum, and amaranth to Japan ; Persian lemon to South Korea and table grape and chickpea to Australia , among others.

At the same time, export protocols were achieved for products such as sausages of various species for Hong Kong and Costa Rica ; canned beef, pork, poultry , and egg products to Chile ; pasteurized dairy products to New Zealand , the United States Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico , and Argentina .

Similarly, it added that Mexican producers can export pet food to Uruguay and Cuba ; live animals to Nicaragua, Honduras and Belize ; gelatin , bovine and porcine, equine hides and skins to the United States , and beef, pork and poultry meat to Canada .
