Mexican gymnasts are on the right path towards the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games since they have reached successful levels.
The president of the Mexican Gymnastics Federation , Gustavo Salazar, said that the latest results obtained in both the Central American and Caribbean Games of Barranquilla 2018 and the Pan American Games in Lima are a great sign.
"We are happy and satisfied with these results, in Lima 2019 we obtained our passes and that is a good sign, to achieve our goal to reach Tokyo 2020 ," said the director.
He added in Lima 2019 , which is the second event to reach Tokyo 2020 , they obtained spots in both branches.
In the women's section, Mexico finished in third place in the All-Around test, with Nicole Castro, Natalia Escalera, and Rio 2016 Olympian, Alexa Moreno.
While in the individual test, Castro obtained a bronze medal.
Meanwhile, the men's team also got a ticket to Lima 2019 with Isaac Núñez Farfan and Edwin López , who finished in sixth place.
Salazar also emphasized that the rhythmic gymnastics team that recently participated in the World Specialt y in Bulgaria , led by Rut Castillo , will travel to Peru this month, on a quest to classify to Lima 2019 .
