Mexican astronomer Andrés Eloy Martínez Rojas was selected by NASA as one of #MessageToVoyager 's 10 finalists.

“Join NASA in celebrating the Voyager mission’s 40 years of exploring space. Inspired by the messages of goodwill carried on Voyager’s Golden Record , you’re invited to help choose a short, uplifting #MessageToVoyager and all that lies beyond it. Vote for your favorite message by 5 p.m. PDT on Tuesday, August 29 . NASA will beam the winning message into interstellar space on September 5, 2017 —the 40th anniversary of Voyager 1’s launch ,” can be read on the contest web page.

The tweet written by a Mexican astronomer stood out from million other tweets. The tweet reads “ You carry our hopes and dreams to the stars .”

#MessageToVoyager received millions of tweets from all around the world since August. Voyager Team Members , NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory ( JPL ) and The National Aeronautics and Space Administration ( NASA ) chose the 10 most creative and hopeful tweets.

“My message basically emphasizes the spirit of this mission. In the 60s, when Carl Sagan , the famous astronomer, included a CD with a selection of music, images, and greetings from the planet Earth to a possible extraterrestrial civilization, twin Voyager spacecraft carried a clear message of hope and illusion to humanity in its exploration through the cosmos,” said Martínez.
