Kate Del Castillo reports conflict of interest in case against Mexican government

The Mexican actress is holding a lawsuit against Mexico’s Attorney General’s Office for damages and affectations caused to her after being linked to drug lord "El Chapo" Guzmán for which she demands compensation of MXN $60 million

On Wednesday, Kate Del Castillo met her lawyers and revealed in her social networks that the former attorney general of Enrique Peña Nieto , Arely Gómez , will be the one in charge of supervising the judges that will assess her case, but she pointed out the officer was who violated her human rights when she was linked to drug lord Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán three years ago.

The actress of “The Queen of the South” is holding a lawsuit against Mexico’s Attorney General’s Office (FGR) for damages and affectations caused to her for being linked to the leader of the Sinaloa cartel, for which she demands compensation of MXN $60 million.

She uploaded a picture to her Instagram account where she is seen with a group of lawyers. She told her followers that the head of the judicial system is back on her case, and used “conflict of interest” as hashtag.

Del Castillo was three years in exile after FGR issued an order of localization and presentation against her to clarify the link between “El Chapo” and her .

All this due to the actress revealing in an interview she had with Rolling Stone magazine the meeting she and Sean Penn had with the drug lord when he was a fugitive from justice after his second escape from federal prison.

Back then, authorities also started an investigation against the tequila brand “ Honor del Castillo ,” property of the actress, for alleged funding with illegal resources .
