“Passages of Light”

will be distributed in two galleries in the museum in which you will be able to appreciate the most representative works of the American artist from the beginning of his career to our days.

In one of the galleries, there will be several works of his series called “Ganzfeld,” which have the characteristic of the colors of the light being intense and creating geometric shapes.

The exhibition will also display the piece “Dark Space” which will take place on the terrace of the museum. The concept is based on the low light, so images seem to be seen inside the eye of the spectator’s eye. Turrell describes this experience as seeing yourself and not what you are supposed to see, as says a press release.

The second gallery will display the first works the artist made in 196 0, as well as his most recent works in which he used the techniques of holography and computer-controlled lighting .

In addition, the exhibition will also include documentation on Turrell’s most famous piece “Roden Crater.” This project is an extinct volcano in Arizona where the artist has worked for over 45 years .
