Inflation once more reaches a record high this December, the highest rate for a similar period in the last 16 years, as a result of the increase in goods and services prices, such as regular gasoline, LP gas, airfares, and tourist packages and red tomato.
The National Index of Prices to Consumers registered a growth of 0.44% in December of 2017, which increased annual inflation rate to 6.69%, exceeding forecasts of analysts.
Other product prices which increased were eggs, zucchini, restaurant and vehicle prices.
Meanwhile, the USD dollar is selling at MXN$19.80 – the highest rate since last March – due to the tax plan announced by the United States.
