The tickets to watch “Dos tipos de cuidado ” sold out, 65 years after the release of the only movie starring both Jorge Negrete and Pedro Infante , the movie theater where it's been exhibited is full of people of all ages: grandparents, parents, and children are anxiously waiting for the 1953 movie to start.
The movie began, and as if they had gone back in time, the black and white images appear on the screen in front of a public used to enjoying movies in high-definition.
Jorge Negrete's majestic voice
and Pedro Infante's grace raise laughs among the public that attended one of the first Mexican Cinematography Party 's screening.
The attendees said the movie “is really good”, as they exit the movie theater inside a mall in Mexico City ; the response it received at the Mariscala movie theater in the 1950s was quite similar, where it was announced as a unique and unforgettable event:
“The milestone of Mexican cinematography ! Shocking but true! Jorge Negrete and Pedro Infante together for the first time! The funniest comedy of the year, laugh and enjoy their quarrels and love stories of these dangerous men!”.
Beyond the picaresque story , that was written for them and took two years to film, back then, the uproar surrounding the movie was because two huge movie stars would be together for the first, and last, time.
One of the most memorable scenes, the simultaneous serenade, when they both sing “ Ojos tapatíos ”, was when the split screen was first used in Mexican cinematography.
From September 7 to September 13 , 800 movie theaters from Cinépolis and Cinemex , as well as local and independent movie theaters, will screen Mexican productions.
11 different movies will be available to watch and the entrance is only MXN $20.
