Terminal Juárez

, a two-story building in Versailles 88 , in the trendy Juaréz neighborhood , is set to become one of the most attractive gastronomic spots in Mexico City , as it offers food from different parts of the world, in a relaxed atmosphere, at the heart of Mexico City , and most importantly, at affordable prices.

One of the most out-standing joints inside Terminal Juárez is , a concept brought directly from Nashville and South Carolina by Gina Hendrix , the charming owner.

Gina

, an American sommelier passionate about food and drinks , missed Nashville's food so much, started cooking for all her friends, and then decided, very kindly, to take on the monumental task of adapting her recipes for the Mexican palate and thus share her homemade food, with us Chilangos .

Hot Mamma's Hot Chicken specializes in soul food —a variety of cuisine that had its origin in the Southeastern United States , common in areas with a history of slave-based plantations : fried chicken , mac 'n cheese , baked beans , and peach cobbler . All the recipes are Gina's family heirlooms , which give this soul food a distinctive , unique , and authentic touch .

Fried chicken

—usually labeled as “low brow"—is nothing like the one sold in food chains. Hot Mamma's Hot Chicken offers fresh, juicy, savory, fried chicken paired with nothing less than sparkling wine !

A rather unusual combination, yet considered a perfect pairing for all the foodies out there. It is a classic contrasting pair of rich and fatty with bright and crisp , plus the bubbles clean and refresh your palate with every bite.

Gina offers a brief, yet outstanding selection of both national and imported wines to embrace this classic pairing, plus a wide selection of beers at friendly prices if you don't dare to try it.

The mac 'n cheese is her grandma's recipe, something to be proud of. They use fresh, buttery buns for the gigantic chicken sandwiches, and all the sauces are homemade.

Hot Mamma's Hot Chicken

also offers brunch , which consists of chicken and waffles— a Southern food classic— paired with mimosas on weekends or if you are willing to try something a little bit spicier, you shouldn't miss their Bloody Mary , made with a secret Vodka infused with several ingredients that make it fresh yet spicy.

The baked beans deserve a special mention too: they are tender, full of flavor, spices and a touch of Jim Beam .

And dessert, oh dessert! Gina's peach cobbler

is a winner, especially when accompanied by cinnamon-infused Bourbon poured all over it!

But it doesn’t stop there, Hot Mamma's is launching new boozy desserts soon , and as Terminal Juárez is pet-friendly, Gina is planning to launch a special menu for our furbabies as well.

Hot Mamma's Hot Chicken

has promotions throughout the week like a happy hour , 2x1 , and all the NFL games are screened for all the football lovers.

Hot Mamma's Kitchen

This La Juárez import took hippie-chic Condesa neighborhood by storm when it opened in Nuevo León 102 A last month.

Like the La Juárez branch, Hot Mamma's Kitchen offers fried chicken —juicy meat oozing with moisture clothed by a crunchy decadent crust,—rich and gooey mac 'n cheese , Jim Beam infused baked beans , and the outstanding cinnamon-infused Bourbon peach cobbler .

However, this second soul-food joint offers plenty more, including succulent burger varieties—a voluptuous cheeseburger and a mushroom Swiss burger ,—sweet pulled pork both in sandwich and in a mac 'n cheese burger extravaganza (coming soon), and even chicken and brisket tacos .

Overall, Hot Mamma's is the place to find high-low dining at its finest!
