Today, Mexican filmmaker Guillermo del Toro unveiled his star in the Walk of Fame in Hollywood , Los Angeles .

, press officer of the Walk of Fame, announced on July 30th on Twitter the date in which the filmmaker would receive this recognition .
Martínez remembered that Del Toro was chosen two years ago to have his star in the Walk of Fame.
It is usual for some time to pass by between when an artist is chosen to have his or her star and when the homage in his or her honor takes place.
Considered one of the most prestigious and singular filmmakers of contemporary cinema, Del Toro has won two Academy Awards for Best Picture and Best Director for “ The Shape of Water ” (2017).
This acclaimed fantasy film, starring Sally Hawkins , Octavia Spencer , and Michael Shannon , also won in the categories of Best Production Design and Best Original Score .
Along with Alejandro González-Iñárritu and Alfonso Cuarón , with whom he forms the group colloquially known as “ Los tres amigos ,” Del Toro has been greatly responsible for the huge success of Mexican directors in all the world.
The filmmaker from Guadalajara explored the most spectacular cinema with “ Pacific Rim ” (2013) and “ Blade II ” (2002), and built a beloved film saga for the lovers of comics with the movies “ Hellboy ” (2004) and “ Hellboy II: The Golden Army ” (2008).
The Mexican did not leave back more personal projects, from his starts with “ Cronos ” (1993) and “ The Devil’s Backbone ” (2001) to his crowning with “ Pan’s Labyrinth ” (2006), which was his most acclaimed work before “ The Shape of Water .”
“Pan’s Labyrinth” won three Academy Awards; Best Cinematography , Best Makeup and Hairstyling , and Best Production Design .
Among the projects on the horizon of the Mexican director are the films “ Zanbato ,” “ Nightmare Alley ,” and “ Pinocchio .”
