“We’re not looking for premieres, it is not a priority, but for a proposal with what is available. Since we are the only Latin American festival , we believe that we can feature iconic films from the region,” she said.

“We want to showcase Mexican films but it’s still being analyzed; the only thing that will be checked later is that the titles are not repeated in other festivals; the films will be subtitled in English,” she added.

The FICG was going to take place by late March but days before it began, the Mexican government preferred to reschedule public massive events to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus .

The We Are One: A Global Film Festival will have a social focus: people will be able to donate to organizations that support people affected by COVID-19. The event will also support the World Health Organization .
