, the Morena senator and experienced politician, is not afraid of friendly fire. We’ve been told it’s clear that fellow Morena members are unhappy with his criticism towards the federal government . Germán Martínez can deal with being attacked for his comments but something he can’t tolerate is when people spread lies about him, especially behind his back. In social media , someone spread the rumor that while Mexico faced COVID-19 pandemic , he traveled to Punta Mita , an exclusive touristic spot; however, as the Senator later explained, he has never visited this place and luxurious places are not “part of his lifestyle.”

Felipe Calderón wants nothing to do with this protest
Former President Felipe Calderón distanced himself from the “first virtual protest against President Andrés Manuel López Obrador .”Calderón used his Twitter account to distance himself from the protest, which he also called “naïve.” He said he will not support “any virtual or real initiative that looks for actions against the government that contradict the Constitution , even when it is a government as bad as this one.” However, he did warn that through his political party, México Libre , he will overthrow Morena’s majority in the 2021 election and his goal is to participate in the recall vote process in 2022.

The army and pólice will protect health workers
After several IMSS healthcare workers have been attacked amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Zoé Robledo , the head of the IMSS, and Javier Guerrero, the IMSS General Secretary, finally discussed the incidents and said the army and police will now protect nurses and doctors . Javier Guerrero said people shouldn’t forget that it’s doctors and nurses who are at the frontline in the battle against coronavirus . Besides police and army protection, it is also important to make sure health workers have the necessary equipment to protect themselves against the virus.

Personal data protection amid the pandemic
We’ve been told the pandemic must not be used as an excuse to ignore the right to personal data protection. The National Institute of Access to Information has been warning all health institutions about the importance to protect the personal information and identity of COVID-19 patients , as violating this measure will likely result in discrimination. The INAI must pay attention so that authorities don’t endanger the rights of the patient the media can’t share the names of the patients or their state without their authorization.
