Genaro García Luna is a ticking time bomb
After it was revealed that former Security Minister Genaro García Luna is negotiating with U.S. authorities to avoid a trial , in Mexico , several officials became nervous because of the impact the possible cooperation between García Luna and U.S. authorities could have. The federal administration believes Genaro García will involve officials who worked for Felipe Calderón and Enrique Peña Nieto , as well as some former state officials and former governors. We’ve been told that García Luna is a ticking time bomb and once it explodes, it will cause large political destruction .
The LeBarón family organizes a protest
We’ve been told that the LeBarón family and activist Javier Sicilia won’t let their guard down. We’ve been told that today, the family and the poet will announce a protest for January 23, from Cuernavaca to the Zócalo square in Mexico City, in order to demand justice , peace , and tranquility in the country. Meanwhile, president Andrés Manuel López Obrador will visit Bavispe , Sonora and will meet with the LeBarón community.

talked about inequality at the court. For the first time in history, there are three female ministers at the Supreme Court , and although this is an important achievement, there is a lot left to do in regards to gender equality . Yesterday, while the minister welcomed new minister Margarita Ríos Farjat , Esquivel Mossa said that she hoped that we didn’t have to wait another 13 years to have at least two other female ministers at the Supreme Court and emphasized that only 18% of magistrates are women, while only 25% of judges are women, and only 38% of local judges are women. Although the minister acknowledged that things are changing, she emphasized that this process is taking too long.
Diplomats meet in Mexico City
The annual meeting between ambassadors and consuls starts today, led by Minister Marcelo Ebrard . All diplomats attend the meeting to receive information in regards to national issues and to define the topics of the foreign politics agenda for 2020 . We’ve been told that there is transparency and inclusion at the work meetings. One of the main topics will be security.
