A federal judge ordered the Attorney General's Office ( PGR ) to reopen Tlatlaya case and to extend the investigation of the events occurred on June 30, 2014 , to confirm if it was indeed an execution against 22 civilians .
The Fourteenth District Court of Protection in Criminal Matters Judge in Mexico City granted a writ of amparo to Clara Gómez González , one of the surviving women of Tlatlaya and key witness in the case in which the PGR tried to prove that the events occurred in the cellar of San Pedro Limón were a confrontation, not an execution.
In the amparo sentence, the PGR could not prove that it exhausted each and every possible line of investigation to clarify the facts in which Fernando Quintero , Roberto Acevedo and Leobardo Hernández , three Army elements, were implicated in the murder of 8 of the 22 civilians and in altering the crime scene.
The sentence orders the PGR to establish whether there is another inquiry that has not been recorded yet to be unified to the processed one so that, once made, the previous investigation can be determined and the decision of whether to exercise or not criminal action can be made.
