"Fashion + Tech by Machina" brings couture and technology together

The Center for Digital Culture ( CCD ) will present the “Fashion + Tech by Machina" exhibition until August 13 , an exhibition that shows new ways of applying technology into clothes .

The installation presents the work of the Mexican designer Linda Lobato , who has ventured into “wearable” technology.

The CCD director , Grace Quintanill a, explained that the pieces show that technology is adaptable to any kind of garment.

In a statement, she said that in this kind of projects they show what is to come , what is the next trend , how the introduction of technology is close and how is it possible to control gadgets through clothing , or how to create music through movement.

In "Fashion + Tech by Machina" , the public was able to admire the designs made by Machina , which allow the expanding of the human body's abilities , through intelligent garments with movement sensors, mechanical buttons, vibration motors and even panic buttons.

It also shows a MIDI Jacket , a modern jacket with an avant-garde design allows the users to create music through body movements via an app ; the jacket was said to be the " most beautiful wearable garment of the year " in 2014 by " Wired " magazine .

Besides admiring these intelligent garments, the public can wear them inside the " Stitches " piece, an interactive installation where the user can change sound and light patterns by using a glove .
