Fake protests paralyze Mexican politics
Pay attention to 40 lawmakers linked to the National Coordination of Education Workers (CNTE) , when they vote the new education reform. We've been told that the CNTE protest is just a performance because, in reality, the “loyal” lawmakers have already negotiated their vote in favor of the new education reformed proposed by president López Obrador . Therefore, the demonstrations and blockades outside Congress are just a cover-up, as the passing of the bill has been agreed. Therefore, when the reform is approved, which is also backed by the PRI, PAN, and PRD , we will see who is loyal to the CNTE and who is loyal to Morena . Now there are two questions, how did Morena convince the lawmakers linked to the CNTE ? What did they receive in exchange for their vote ? Before answering these questions, remember that the new administration promised not to give money to unions , so that is not an option.
One happy family
Now the PES party is extinct, after losing its registration, Mexican democracy is not losing a political party, but Morena now has 29 new members. We've been told that the PES will maintain its bench in the lower chamber . The 29 lawmakers, led by Olga Elizondo , will maintain its bench as they argue that their fraction was formed since September 1, when their party hadn't officially lost its registration and that has already been approved by the lower chamber. It's a low blow for the lawmakers who no longer have the support of a political institute , but now they will be adopted by Morena, who needs them to approve new reforms . At the end of the day, they will be one happy family.
New ambassadors and consuls
The federal government delivered a balanced list of members from the Mexican Foreign Service and politicians to be appointed as ambassadors and consuls , which has to be approved by the Senate . The list includes 11 diplomats and 10 politicians and academics . So far, career diplomats haven't complained about the appointment of politicians.
Discussing medicines
Yesterday, the Finance Minister, Carlos Urzúa , and the Health Minister, Jorge Carlos Alcocer , and their teams met to discuss the process to acquire medicines but it became chaotic. We've been told that their first mistake was that the video-conference only allowed 100 users, which resulted in big crowds outside the venue. In the end, the meeting lasted 15 minutes and the majority of the assistants ended up with more doubts than answers. It's only a matter of patience, as the new administration took office only 100 days ago.
