E-commerce
continues to rise in Mexico and the main players in the sector expect a 30% growth in the first half of the year.
The Mexican Internet and Mexican Online Sales Associations hope that sales via internet will pick up this year and grow two digits in the first half, with a 30% expansion .
Rosa Costes, co-founder of EnvíoClick
, the main portal in Mexico that integrates the offer of the main courier companies, explained that the growth of e-commerce is due to factors such as price, product description, and faster purchase delivery.
A fundamental and crucial aspect for this sector is the efficiency of product delivery . People are more demanding and want their purchases to be delivered on the same day, she said in a statement.
Therefore, she said, EnvíoClick has become a strategic partner for SME s that are venturing into e-commerce, by offering the best shipping options and 20% to 50% discounts for expedited and safe deliveries.
In the past, messaging could "eat" the profit margin of SMEs that sell online, so having an ecosystem for delivery is essential, highlighted Rosa Costes.
"The (e-commerce) market in Latin America has many paradigms and there are barriers that we are trying to break and more and more online buyers are finding offers and security in their purchases," she said.
Another paradigm is the payment methods that have diversified and are more secure.
The payment gateways include physical payment points such as convenience stores and retails, so it is not necessary to register a debit or credit card, stressed Costes.
The description of the products is also fundamental in the online buyer’s decision. The more data are offered, the more likely it is for the article to be purchased, she said.
