Don’t cough or get a fever in Yucatán, you could be sent to jail
Yucatán Governor Mauricio Vila
is a few steps ahead now that he announced that those who have COVID-19 symptoms or have been diagnosed ignore isolation measures to prevent the spread of the virus and are out an about could spend up to three years in jail . We’ve been told that it’s wrong to ignore the emergency but it’s also not a good idea to exaggerate. It seems like the pandemic has made several governors nervous, for example, Puebla Governor Miguel Barbosa , who said the poor are immune to coronavirus and others will send people with a fever and cough , who don’t stay home, to jail.

The PAN has several requests for the President
Senators
from the PAN are making more and more demands to President Andrés Manuel López Obrador , including that private school tuition is tax-deductible as a result of COVID-19 ; that those who earn less than 5 minimum wages receive financial aid; to purchase ventilators or hire engineers to produce them here; to close the border with the U.S., among many other demands. However, it is unlikely that the President will listen to the PAN members. We’ve been told that it would be a good idea if instead of making these demands on their own, they got together and send a document to the President.

Funeral homes refuse services to COVID-19 victims
After the increase of COVID-19 cases in Mexico, several states are wondering how are they going to treat and handle the patients who have died as a result of coronavirus ? The Health Ministry included the paragraphs in its coronavirus protocol and not even a single line that explains how funeral homes should act or if there will be sanctions for those who refuse services, like the funeral homes in Querétaro and the state of Mexico . Mexican authorities haven’t sent the clear message that those who die of COVID-19 can be buried or cremated, so there is no reason for funeral homes to refuse them these services. Nevertheless, in the face of an increasing death toll, it’s urgent for the Health Ministry to establish clear rules and prevent a serious problem in the midst of a pandemic .
