For months, society has been focused on the caravans formed by thousands of Central American migrants that have been traveling through the country for months, on their way to the United States , in search of job opportunities t hat have been denied to them in their home countries or that simply doesn't exist or running away from violence and gangs that besiege them.
Nevertheless, no one talks about another large group of displaced persons . There are around 31,000 Mexicans who were forced to leave their homes last year, as a result of natural disasters or to run away from the violence generated by the power obtained by organized crime .
A report by the Norwegian Refugee Council's Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre reveals that among Mexicans , we also experience the need to leave our homes and look for new opportunities but not only in search of a better life but to at least escape a tragic destiny . The report explains that although the majority of displaced persons , around 20,000 people, left their place of origin because they were affected by a natural phenomenon ; for example, at least 13,000 people were affected by hurricane Willa , there are also at least 11,000 people who have migrated to escape the violence that struck their communities. The main red flags are Chiapas, Guerrero, Michoacán, Oaxaca, Sinaloa, Chihuahua , and Baja California . It is expected that by the end of 2019, the report will also include places like Guanajuato and Puebla , and even the State of Mexico .
Being under the yoke of criminals that are becoming bolder and bloodier turns the lives of many into hell , as they are extorted, kidnapped , or forced to join their ranks to serve dark and incomprehensible interests.
It becomes evident that the problem is not only the murders perpetrated by organized crime but also other stories that very few have heard but that enclose a vortex of anguish and uneasiness . Migration from Central America has been emphasized but we shouldn't forget that right now, there are at least 31,000 people who were forced to migrate inside Mexico , many as a result of violence .
Mexicans
want a progressive country, but now more than ever, society demands a stable and peaceful country.
