Did AMLO give Alejandro Moreno his blessing?
Yesterday, President López Obrador and the Governor of Campeche, Alejandro Moreno , had breakfast together. We've been told that during the meeting, the politicians discussed federal programs to promote the development in the south of the country, for example, the Mayan train . Nevertheless. We've been told that several PRI members want to know if they talked about the incoming internal elections at the PRI , as some think that he is the preferred candidate by the President . Maybe Moreno will be blessed by the President one of these days.
The President's veto could affect the supply of HIV medicines
Civil society organizations that support HIV/AIDS patients are looking to meet with President López Obrador to demand the immediate purchase of antiretrovirals , as two of the companies banned by the President were the main suppliers of these medicines, and although the Health Ministry has said that they have enough supplies and that they are looking for mechanisms to maintain the distribution. We've been told that the President has a bad image of some organizations, therefore, their demand won't have anything to do with the veto against some companies, so it doesn't seem like they are defending them. They claim they will keep on insisting until the government guarantees the antiretrovirals are distributed in time. We've been told that if this isn't the case, they will organize protests throughout the country.
The PT-Morena alliance is at risk
We've been told that after Easter break, some lawmakers from Morena will work on the proposal made by Pablo Gómez to eliminate the outsourcing scheme. We've been told that they will discuss the issue in an open parliament but that the PT wanted to include this proposal on the labor reform approved on Thursday. We've been told that Morena wants to strengthen its alliance with PT since they have been drifting apart lately. We will see if they carry out these public audiences and eliminate outsourcing , and also if this issue will become the breaking point between PT and Morena , who have disagreed on several occasions.
Roberto Borge is forgotten
It seems like the former Quintana Roo Governor, Roberto Borge Angulo , isn't in a hurry to solve his judicial process. On April 6, the deadline for his defense team to investigate expired and his process must continue. Nevertheless, nor the Attorney General's Office or the former Governor's lawyers have requested an audience. It seems like Attorney General's Office is not in a hurry to solve the case either, while Bore Angulo is imprisoned in a prison in Morelos , where he receives special care for his kidney damage. Did they forget about him or is his defense unsure about its proofs?
