Deputies, are you giving up food money?
The parliamentary coordinators from the different benches in the Chamber of Deputies are working on the real austerity plan for the legislators. We're told that the important cuts will take place in the 2019 Expenditure Budget, where there will be cuts in the budget every party is allocated. Also, they explain that they are looking to apply cuts to the deputies' salaries or diets , but it would be difficult to agree on cuts with the other parties in regards to this issue. What will happen next is that every party will be free to propose a reduction and, we're told, that way, their level of commitment with the Fourth Transformation's Republican austerity will be revealed.
Del Mazo to AMLO: Thank you, Mr. President...
The ceremony to commemorate Independence Day and mount a guard of honor and leave flowers in the statues of Miguel Hidalgo, Ignacio Allende, and Mariano Jiménez for the battle of the Monte de las Cruces, in Ocoyoacac , State of Mexico , brought the President-elect, Andrés Manuel López Obrador and the PRI Governor, Alfredo del Mazo , together. Del Mazo had to wait for almost an hour for AMLO to finish talking with his fand and the press, to be able to say goodbye to him. But there was affection, “Come here...they want a picture”, told López Obrador to Del Mazo while he placed an arm around him. “Thank you, President !”, whispered Del Mazo . López Obrador decided against organizing a “ grito ” and only attended the ceremony, where he wasn't an orator, but his wife, Beatriz Gutiérrez , read some of Carlos Pellicer 's words. The President-elect said he wanted to respect the President, Enrique Peña Nieto .
Erasing 10 years of PAN history
Mirelle Montes,
who will team up with Manuel Gómez Morin Martínez del Río to compete for the PAN's leadership , was highly criticized by Twitter user s. We're told that to congratulate the party for its 79th anniversary , Montes instead wrote 69th . After a couple of minutes, the tweet was deleted and corrected. But someone had evidence and tweeted back at Montes and attached the picture. Have PAN members have forgotten a little, or a lot, about their history?
Afraid of revenge
There are rumors and names among Governors and members of President Enrique Peña Nieto 's cabinet of those who will be persecuted by López Obrador's administration , for alleged corruption cases. Nevertheless, AMLO's discourse has softened and has said that his strength doesn't lie in revenge , but has also said that if he did send them to prison , the prisons in the Islas Marías wouldn't be enough. Or the most recent declaration, from yesterday, regarding Rosario Robles, when he said she was just a scapegoat . Anyway, fear of revenge is everywhere.
