"The idea is to support our clients through help from our experts and research groups, in order to gain knowledge, and to work on their quality of life," Ávila Portillo said.

She explained that the hematopoietic stem cells from the umbilical cord are not only used for hematological purposes, for example, in the case of childhood cancer treatments.

"Results show that in children with autism , the infusion of blood from their own umbilical cord improves some aspects of their life," she said.

In Mexico , at the end of 2015, the National Center for Blood Transfusion ( CNTS ) reported 348 hematopoietic cell transplant s, a number that has increased worldwide each year, 89.96% was performed in pediatric patients.

Advances in the science of the use of stem cells are also encouraging its use on treatments against Parkinson's, Alzheimer's and diabetes , as well as cell regeneration therapy and tissue formation.

Ávila Portillo s

aid that they have developed protocols for the use of stem cells in cardiac diseases such as refractory angina, chronic occlusive vascular diseases with ischemia of the lower limbs, autoimmune diseases such as scleroderma refractory to conventional treatments, among others.

In Mexico . Cryocell has provided stem cells for 22 transplants in Nuevo León, Puebla, Querétaro, Aguascalientes, Mexico City, and Jalisco , among other states.
