" Estamos Unidos Mexicanos" (roughly, Mexicans United), is a free concert that will take place today at 17:00 hour s in the Zócalo of Mexico City to “recharge the batteries” and “inspire Mexico” to keep the aid coming and help with the reconstruction works in the country after the earthquakes on September 7 and 19.
Several media have already confirmed they will provide a live coverage of the event, where artists such as Miguel Bosé, Juanes, Bronco, Mijares , and more are scheduled to participate.
Coldplay
has also announced they will join the event through a live transmission with songs from their own concert in San Diego, California, yet “to mark the occasion”, they will also play “ a brand new song for the first time,” with all the benefits generated from the track “destined to help the relief efforts in Mexico and around the world.”
Attendants to the concert are asked to dress in white and the organizers remind them that objects such as firearms, knives, alcoholic beverages, portable chairs, and umbrellas are prohibited into the event.
Mexico City authorities have cautioned several avenues will be closed throughout the day due to the concert and recommend using alternative roads.
