“Bud” once more a category 3 hurricane

After reaching the category 4 early this morning, Mexico's National Meteorological Service has recently announced “Bud” is once more a category 3 hurricane

Mexico's National Meteorological Service (SMN) informed this morning that hurricane “ Bud ” had intensified, becoming a category-4 hurricane according to the Saffir-Simpson scale.

“Hurricane Bud, category 4,” reads the tweet of the National Water Commission (CONAGUA):

However, recent tweets of the organization seem to confirm the hurricane has lost some intensity and is now back a category 3.

Hurricane Bud , now category 3, is located 360km to the southwest of Cabo Corrientes, Jalisco and 270km to the east of Isla Socorro. Colima has sustained winds of 205 km/h, and gusts of 250km/h and a northwest displacement of 9km/h.”

Heavy rains are expected in Jalisco, Colima, and Michoacán , with downpours in Nayarit, Puebla, Veracruz, Guerrero, Oaxaca, and Chiapas .

Strong rains are also expected in the State of Mexico and Mexico City .

Mexico's National Meteorological Service urges the population to take precautions in the states with the highest probability of heavy rains and strong winds and to follow the recommendations issued by Civil Protection authorities.
